Speaking about the design of the upcoming Transporter, Chief Designer Albert Kirzinger said: “The new Transporter combines a high degree of practicality with the characteristically clean and iconic style of Volkswagen design. It is not only the overall lines of the vehicle, but also the individual elements that have become defining features of the product line.” Among many other styling elements, these include the headlights, taillights and wheels.

The new Transporter will be fitted with a set of 19-inch Indianapolis alloy wheels, which Kirzinger says are “instantly recognisable” as a Transporter wheel thanks to their ‘iconic’ design. LED headlights will be present across the range. In addition to the standard variant, VW will launch a more lifestyle-oriented PanAmericana model. This version is equipped as standard with LED headlights and taillights and model-specific 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

As a reminder, the new version (with standard wheelbase) will be 5,050mm long from nose to tail, while the long-wheelbase derivative will be 5,450mm long. In addition, the wheelbase of the standard model has been extended by 97 mm to 3,100 mm, while the latest variant measures 3,500 mm between the front and rear axles.
