On January 29, Chery’s high-end brand Exeed launched its latest model, the Exeed Zhuifeng, known internationally as the Exeed LX C-DM, with three variants hitting the market. This model is a PHEV variant of the Exeed LX. Prices for these models range from 129,800 to 149,800 yuan (18,200 USD to 21,000 USD).

A standout feature of the LX C-DM is the new 1.5T C-DM plug-in hybrid system, which offers improvements over the 1.5TCI-DHT plug-in hybrid system of the previous PHEV. The new system features faster charging times, higher efficiency and lower fuel consumption, and delivers a combined power of 326 hp (239 kW). It has a pure electric range of 80 km and a total range of 1,000 km. The gasoline-powered Exeed LX featured a 2-liter four-cylinder for 262 hp (192 kW).
As part of the launch, Exeed is offering buyers a package of benefits including warranty, emergency services, data and charging rights.

In terms of design, the new model retains a fairly similar appearance to the PHEV variant, with a front fascia with four LED lights and a black trim strip that increases the visual width of the vehicle. The front features large, crossed air vents, a silver finish and side channels, adding to a sporty look. The car’s profile is rounded and fitted with large two-tone wheels, while the rear features full-width taillights and twin square exhaust tips, in addition to diffusers and a spoiler to enhance the sporty aesthetic. In addition, the front design of the Exeed LX C-DM follows the styling of the top petrol engine version with a frameless grille. Dimensions are 4538mm long, 1848mm wide and 1699mm high, with a wheelbase of 2670mm.
The Exeed LX C-DM is a small part of Chery’s New Energy Strategy. Last year, Chery Group announced an extensive transition to NEVs. This year the company hopes to see a significant increase in sales of its NEV range.
Inside, the car continues the design language of its predecessor, including a 24.6-inch dual-screen setup, powered by an 8155 chip and lion5.0 system, with support for hands-free voice commands and a 540° high-definition camera system. The interior offers a 50W wireless phone charger, a flat-bottom steering wheel and air conditioning controls integrated into a touch panel. The shift lever is compact and made of metal, which gives it a high-end touch. The vehicle also features advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), such as adaptive full-speed cruise control and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection.

The C-DM’s powertrain combines a 1.5T engine with two electric motors, delivering a combined power of 326 hp and 545 Nm of torque. It is equipped with a 3-speed DHT gearbox and a 19.27 kWh battery pack. It supports a charging speed of 29 kW, allowing a 30% to 80% charge in 25 minutes.
