The Denza N9 SUV debuted at the Guangzhou Auto Show on November 15. Previously, we only knew information about the PHEV variant thanks to the MIIT entry. We can now confirm that a fully electric version exists and that it has a total power of 710 kW.

Together with the Denza Z9 and Z9 GTthe N9 will be a flagship model for the Denza brand. All three cars use the same Denza e3 (Yi san fang) platform. This supports functions such as independent steering of the rear wheels with dual motors and is equipped with air suspension better handling.
The Denza N9 has a closed grille and narrow headlight units at the front. The front reportedly includes an upper and lower air intake grille that can be opened and closed. Additionally, a Lidar unit sits above the windshield, meaning the car comes with advanced smart driving capabilities, possibly BYD’s Eye of the Gods system.

The body is 5,258 mm long, 2,030 mm wide and 1,830 mm high, and the N9 has a wheelbase of 3,125 mm. These measurements apply to the PHEV variant and it is possible that the fully electric version may differ slightly. Buyers can choose between 21 and 22 inch wheels with yellow brake calipers. Depending on the version, the PHEV has an empty weight of 3130 or 3245 kg.
The PHEV N9 is powered by a 200 kW TZ210XYD on the front axle and a 240 kW TZ220XYAM electric motor driving each of the rear wheels, for a total power of 680 kW. There is also a 2.0T BYD479ZQA unit that can deliver up to 152 kW of power. The battery is powered by a 47 kWh lithium iron phosphate leaf battery pack, which can deliver an all-electric range of 165 km. The top speed of the car is 230 km/h.
The EV version also gets a three-motor setup and slightly more powerful engines, with a total output of 710 kW. Currently there is no information on the size of the battery pack, although we know it will also use a blade battery.

Interestingly, BYD still doesn’t want to show off the interior, as the car is being showcased at the Guangzhou Show with blacked-out windows. However, the interior is expected to follow a similar format to the Z9 GT.
Inside, Denza’s flagship SUV features three rows of seats with a 2+2+3 layout. The second row offers two independent captain’s chairs. The center console has a three-screen design. Another feature of the Denza N9 is a storage box with heating and cooling functions.
There is still a possibility that sales of the PHEV version will start this year, but at the moment early next year seems more likely.
