“We are taking the Macan to a completely new level – with exceptional E-Performance, the new Driver Experience and a very impressive design,” said Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Board of Management of Porsche AG.

The recently unveiled second-generation Macan will initially be offered in two variants, the Macan 4 and the Macan Turbo. Both feature four-wheel drive via the company’s latest generation permanently excited PSM electric motors, one on each axle. Also included is the Porsche Traction Management system, which can adapt and respond to slippage within ten milliseconds, as well as a new Torque Vectoring Plus system that introduces an electronically controlled differential lock on the rear axle

Porsche’s newly developed Premium Platform Electric system features a 100 kWh lithium-ion battery and an 800-volt architecture. The Macan can be charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 21 minutes via a suitable fast charging station.

The air suspension is standard on the Turbo and includes the dual-valve Porsche Active Suspension Management electronic damping control. The Macan is also offered with rear axle steering.

The all-electric SUV is 4,784 mm long, 1,938 mm wide and 1,622 mm high, with a wheelbase of 86 mm compared to the first model. The new car’s styling is said to have been designed to take into account the classic Porsche proportions, while recognizing its all-electric mandate. An active aerodynamics system has been incorporated with the aim of maximizing usable range. This setup includes an active rear spoiler and cooling flaps in the front air apron.

The Macan 4 with 300 kW/650 Nm sprints from standstill to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, while the Turbo with 470 kW/1,130 Nm can complete this exercise in 3.3 seconds. Porsche claims the Macan 4 has a range of up to 613 km, while the Turbo can travel up to 591 km on a charge.

“Thanks to its particularly sporty seating position and low center of gravity, as well as its impressive driving dynamics and steering precision, the new Macan provides a real sports car feeling,” explains Product Line Vice President Jörg Kerner.

A 12.6-inch curved infotainment display and a 10.9-inch instrument screen are the focal points of the new car’s cabin. Just like in the Cayenne, a 10.9-inch screen for the front passenger can also be ordered.

“Our goal is to offer the sportiest model in its segment with the fully electric Macan,” – Jörg Kerner.
