Debuting nearly a year ago, the eighth-generation 5 Series continues to serve as the bastion for the Bavarian automaker’s premium-yet-sporty sedan lineup. In a few months, rumors will start to emerge about the arrival of the upper-end M5, the main one being that the four-door will have a twin-turbocharged V8 borrowed from the ridiculous XM SUV. Additionally, all four wheels will have hybrid support, making the newcomer possibly the most powerful to ever wear the M5 badge.

Another thing that remains under wraps is the styling that is expected to be given to the sedan, although spy images don’t leave too much to the imagination. Like all its predecessors, the newcomer has seen more muscular corners, and the M5 is expected to come equipped with a front lip under the corner vents. The rear is also distinguished by a diffuser with four exhaust pipes and a subtle lip spoiler.
