Jeep’s letter to its dealers, obtained by a member of the JL Wrangler Forum, outlines a challenge for the top 50 stores in three regions. To secure allocation for the 2024 Jeep Rubicon 392 Final Edition, these dealers must exceed their sales of a specific Jeep model by January 2024 by January 2023.
Following its corporate counterparts Chrysler, Dodge and Ram, Jeep appears to be saying goodbye to V8 engines. Models like the Dodge Challenger, Charger and their SRT variants have already been discontinued, along with the Chrysler 300. Ram also said goodbye to the TRX with a Final Edition. Currently, the only remaining V8-powered performance models under the Stellantis umbrella are the Dodge Durango SRT 392 and SRT Hellcat.
Despite this apparent shift, Stellantis has not yet officially confirmed the fate of the Jeep Wrangler 392 and no announcements have been made about a Final Edition model. The company has remained remarkably silent on the matter, leaving enthusiasts and industry watchers full of anticipation.

This move is in line with Stellantis’ broader strategy, evidenced by the rapid phase-out of V8 engines across its brands. The Dodge Challenger, Charger and Chrysler 300 are already doomed to history, while the Ram TRX met its end with a Final Edition, Stellantis seems determined to move away from V8 powertrains and focus on alternative approaches in its vehicle lineup.
The Jeep Wrangler, an iconic model in its own right, appears poised for a transition that reflects the evolving automotive landscape. As the sector evolves, Stellantis continues to recalibrate its offering, signaling a decisive departure from V8-powered models.
