Previously, there was no information about the upcoming Zeekr EX1E crossover. However, CarNewsChina suspected that the codename of this vehicle refers to its size class. It means that the EX1E is the upcoming full-size flagship SUV of Zeekr.

On June 28, the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) published patent information of Zhejiang Zeekr Technology Co., Ltd. This patent protects the tailgate design of an unknown future car of Zeekr. It shows the rear of the vehicle, which is considered to be the brand’s flagship SUV. Chinese sources reported that the patent images are of the EX1E crossover.

Zeekr EX1E patent images

The Zeekr EX1E SUV has a flat roof with a large sunroof, sloping D-pillars and plastic trim around the wheel arches. It has a roof spoiler, a charging port in the left fender and trapezoidal independent taillight units that look quite similar to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The EX1E’s tailgate also remains suspiciously close to the RR car. It has a split design. The lower part can be folded down, while the upper part opens upwards. According to the patent application, these parts are both electrically operated.

Interestingly, the styling of the Zeekr EX1E does not follow the brand’s current design language called Hidden Energy. It seems that Zeekr wants to emphasize the status of the EX1E by giving it a unique look. The EX1E crossover will likely use the SEA architecture. It will enter China next year to compete with cars from Legacy brands.
