The R7 also excels in rear passenger comfort, with seats with enhanced foam padding and reclining angles from 27° to 37°. Combined with a panoramic sunroof with retractable sunshade, the interior atmosphere feels open yet protected from excessive sunlight. Thoughtful additions such as slide-out rear storage compartments and a multi-level trunk design make the R7 highly practical for family outings or longer trips.
The loading capacity is impressive: 837 liters, expandable to 2,130 liters with the rear seats folded down.
Behind the wheel
The R7 delivers precise steering and can handle turns in urban environments with confidence. The sturdy chassis and supportive suspension contribute to agility and make it enjoyable for drivers looking for more involvement. However, some may find that the unconventional shape of the steering column takes some getting used to, especially during tight maneuvers or parking.
As a premium electric SUV, the Luxeed R7 combines groundbreaking technology, comfort and functionality. The refined driver assistance, intuitive functions and focus on passengers deliver polished and adaptable performance.
The Luxeed R7 prioritizes passenger comfort with an advanced air suspension system that dynamically uses laser scanning to adjust ride height. This function minimizes vibrations and improves driving comfort. A notable highlight is the car’s ability to adjust acceleration and braking for a softer experience, effectively reducing motion sickness.
Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 3.0
The R7 features Huawei’s ADS 3.0 system, which offers mature and responsive autonomous driving functions. The system skillfully handled various challenges, such as merging into narrower lanes, navigating construction zones and smoothly transferring between multi-lane highways. In particular, decision-making mimics human driving behavior, balancing safety and decisiveness.
In busy areas, the R7 anticipated and adapted to current road conditions, for example moving closer to the center line to avoid potential roadside obstacles. On wet roads, the vehicle’s lidar-assisted system effectively scanned its surroundings, adjusted speed and maintained stability without over-braking.
The continuous learning mechanism of the ADS 3.0 system ensures that efficiency improves over time, making the driving experience more intuitive.
The 800V architecture enables ultra-fast charging, reaching a range of 400 km in just 15 minutes.
Pronunciation
The Luxeed R7 impresses with its advanced technology, luxurious interior and dynamic performance, positioning itself as a strong competitor in the electric coupe SUV market. The precise handling, refined autonomous driving functions and passenger-centric design deliver a high-quality and versatile driving experience. However, the unconventional shape of the steering column may require an adjustment period for some drivers, and the car’s curb weight has a slight impact on agility during spirited driving. Despite these minor drawbacks, the R7’s fast charging, intelligent systems and focus on comfort and functionality contribute to its success.
