The BYD Yuan UP pure electric crossover was unveiled in official images. The smallest SUV from BYD’s Yuan family is based on the e-Platform 3.0 architecture. Last year it applied for the sales license in preparation for the market introduction.

BYD has two vehicle series: Dynasty and Ocean. Cars in the Dynasty line are named after Chinese ruling families. It consists of five lines: Han, Song, Qin, Tang and Yuan. The Yuan series currently consists of two models: Yuan Pro and Yuan Plus (Atto 3). BYD will soon launch the third model for the Yuan series, the Yuan UP. This crossover was previously exposed by the Chinese regulator. And now BYD has unveiled its official images.

The BYD Yuan UP follows BYD’s updated Dragon Face design language, which is similar to the previously launched BYD Song L. It features a chunky front bumper, signature Yuan (元) logo and thin elongated LED headlights. The Yuan UP features blackened pillars, a large sunroof, recessed door handles, funky plastic cladding in the lower part of the body and five-spoke wheels. The Yuan UP has a single rear light unit and a roof spoiler at the rear.

The BYD Yuan UP’s exterior design remains in line with images from China’s MIIT. The only unique feature is a light green color. BYD previously shared official spy images of the camouflage-clad Yuan UP. It is clearly preparing for the market introduction planned for March this year.
BYD Yuan UP specifications
The BYD Yuan UP is a small SUV with dimensions of 4310/1830/1675 mm and a wheelbase of 2620 mm. It has two optional electric motors of 70 kW and 130 kW, similar to the BYD Dolphin. The top speed is 160 km/h. The BYD Yuan UP has two LFP battery options from FinDreams for 32 kWh and 45.1 kWh, good for a range of 301-401 km.
The Yuan UP will hit the Chinese market in March this year. The price tag will be around 100,000 yuan (14,085 USD). It has the potential to become BYD’s next bestseller.
