Spy shots of BYD minivans

Thanks to the new spy photos, we get a glimpse of the exterior of BYD’s new minivan. It is still far from the mass-produced model. However, it has a sleek front end with a short hood line. The A-pillars merge into the roofline. The spotted minivan has conventional side mirrors, sliding rear doors and a rear window wiper on the tailgate.

Here we must highlight the wheels of this minivan. They have the Tang (唐) logo on the wheel hubs. It indicates that this MPV will become part of the Tang family. Previously, BYD launched the Song Max multi-function vehicle as part of the Song series. They can follow the same strategy as the BYD Tang. This MPV will most likely be called BYD Tang Max.

There is no interior photo. However, we can notice BYD’s signature 15.6-inch floating, swiveling screen. Inside, this minivan has three rows of seats. At the moment it seems like a reasonable family carrier.

BYD minivan specifications

The tested minivan has a sheet of paper attached to the right front fender. It sheds light on the specifications and testing phase. The spotted MPV is undergoing BMS and LBMS testing and some battery studies. According to this magazine, this vehicle is a plug-in hybrid with a pure electric range of 200 km under an unknown driving cycle. Most likely this is the NEDC number. To be clear, the Denza D9 DM-i minivan has a NEDC range of up to 190 km in electric mode.

The exact dimensions of the Dynasty series MPV are yet to be revealed. It is slightly smaller than the Denza D9, whose body length is 5250 mm. The new minivan can therefore be 5 meters long. It will most likely adopt BYD’s fifth-generation DM-i plug-in hybrid system, which will also be adopted by BYD Qin L.
