Autocar Great Women 2024: nominations are now open

Entries are now open for Autocar’s Great Women 2024, which recognizes the automotive industry’s best female talent who are showing great potential in their rapidly developing careers.

Great Women is run by Autocar in partnership with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) and celebrates the achievements of the most influential women in the automotive sector.

This year’s event, held on Tuesday, April 30, will see the announcement of the Top 100, chosen by Autocar and its jury based on their seniority and level of influence.

These outstanding individuals will cover categories including marketing, retail, vehicle development and manufacturing.

There will also be an apprentice category, separate from the Top 100, to celebrate newcomers to the industry.

In addition to them, an overall winner will be crowned. They will join a long list of distinguished previous winners, such as Alison Jones of Stellantis and Linda Jackson of Citroën.

The event will also include presentations from keynote speakers (to be announced soon), a panel debate and a networking session.

This year marks the ninth edition of the Autocar Great Women Awards, which were launched in 2016. The initiative celebrates women in the automotive industry and annually shifts the focus between the industry’s future leaders (as part of Autocar Great Women: Rising Stars) and the powerhouses with the greatest influence in their fields.

Haymarket Automotive’s Managing Director, Rachael Prasher, said: “Now in its ninth year, Autocar Great Women continues to shine a spotlight on the huge number of talented women in our automotive industry. As always, I look forward to this year’s entries.”

CEO of SMMT Mike Hawes said: “We are proud to once again support this important initiative as the UK automotive industry strives to attract the brightest talent the world has to offer, from all backgrounds and skills.
