The modern Jeep Wrangler still features a design that has its roots in the legendary Willys MB, the original Jeep launched in 1941 as a ‘light reconnaissance vehicle’ for the US military.
Jeep celebrates that connection with its newest 2025 Wrangler, which features a special edition Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41 that signals from the Willys MBwhile also incorporating some elements from the 2022 Jeep ’41 concept.
Willys-Overland MB from 1941
The most obvious connection to the Willys MB is the Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41’s olive paint finish. The SUV also gets 17-inch wheels painted in the same color and wrapped with 33-inch all-terrain tires. Various decals and badges also bear the ‘Willys’ name, with some even sporting the same blue color used for the factory stenciling mandated by the US Army on Willys MBs during World War II.
Inside, there are brown cloth seats, more olive accents and a ”41′ logo on the gear knob. A model-exclusive tan soft-top roof will be available, as an alternative to a body-color hardtop and the Wrangler’s Sky One-touch power top roof options. The vehicle is also equipped with a trunk and steel bumpers front and rear as standard.
2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41
Like all Wrangler 4xe models, the special edition Willys ’41 comes with a plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.0-liter turbo-4 with a pair of electric motors for a peak of 375 hp. In a way, this is also a nod to the Willys MB, which also had a four-cylinder engine.
After the 2024 update, changes to the 2025 Wrangler lineup are relatively light. The list includes power locks and power windows that are now standard across the range, as well as the addition of an available cabin ventilation system that allows the owner to pre-ventilate the cabin using an app on their phone. The olive paint of the Willys ’41 special edition has also been added to the regular paint options.

In addition to the 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain, the 2025 Wrangler is offered with a 2.0-liter turbo-4 rated at 270 horsepower, a 3.6-liter V-6 rated at 285 horsepower and a 6. 4-liter V-8 with an output of 470 hp. pk. This could be the last year for the V-8 in the Wrangler, or any Jeep for that matter. Most powertrains come with an 8-speed automatic as the sole transmission, but a 6-speed manual is still offered as the sole transmission for the V-6.
Order books for the 2025 Wrangler range have already been opened and the first units should reach Jeep dealers before the end of the year. The The 2025 Wrangler is priced starting at $33,990while the special edition Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41 is priced at $61,825. Both figures include a $1,895 destination charge.
