Roush F-150 Supercharger adds over 300 horsepower and warranty

Roush has a long history with Ford, and the partnership continues with the 2024 F-150. The company’s 5.0-liter supercharger kit is now available for the updated pickup, turning the regular half-ton truck into a Raptor R fighter changes. At least on the sidewalk.

At the heart of the kit is a large roots-style R2650 supercharger, with four-lobe rotors and a displacement of 2.65 liters. Roush says it has larger bearings and thicker timing gears for better durability, and it runs a custom intercooler to keep temperatures down. The kit also includes a new coolant reservoir and radiator, designed to optimize cooling during high-load situations such as towing. The kit replaces new spark plugs, adds a crankshaft damper and a new engine calibration ensures everything works in harmony. However, you will have to use premium fuel.

The result, according to Roush, is 705 hp at the crankshaft. That’s a 305-hp improvement over a standard 5.0-liter V-8, and if the kit is installed by a Ford dealer or authorized technician, Roush covers the upgraded powertrain with a 3-year/36,000 warranty miles. However, there is a price for such power. The 2024 F-150 supercharger kit costs $8,649.99, not including installation.

That said, there is some serious potential to build a killer performance truck for a reasonable price. A new F-150 STX 4×4 with a 5.0-liter V-8 costs $52,235. Add the supercharger kit and add a little more for installation, and you could have a 705-hp F-150 off-roader for just over $60,000. The cheapest F-150 Raptor R with comparable power is almost double the price: $112,460 to be exact. Of course you give up the Raptor suspension. But if flying isn’t a priority, a lower-equipment truck with a supercharger kit could be your ticket to driving.
