Hyundai Inster gets an off-road-inspired Cross variant

Both versions use the nickel-manganesecobalt (NMC) chemistry and all Insters receive a heat pump and 85kW (DC) charging options as standard.

While these specs put the Inster roughly on par with its classmates, Hyundai believes it will stand out for its interior connectivity and onboard technologies.

Inside, all versions get a pair of 10.25-inch digital displays (an instrument cluster and an infotainment touchscreen) and you can use your smartphone as a ‘key’ to unlock and start the car.

Deliveries of the Inster will begin next spring. UK customers are offered both battery options and two trim levels, called 01 and 02.

Kit including digital instrument cluster, infotainment touchscreen, rearview camera and automatic headlights are standard. However, to get a sliding rear seat, flat-folding front seats or LED headlights, you’ll have to opt for the 02 trim, priced from £26,745.
