Jeep makes the two best-selling plug-in hybrids in America, but that’s not enough for the off-road brand. On the contrary, as they want to increase PHEV sales by as much as 50% this year alone.
Speaking to CNBC, Jeep CEO Antonio Filosa revealed that the brand expects to sell 160,000 to 170,000 plug-in hybrids in the United States by 2024. That would be a significant jump considering the publication reports the brand sold just 113,113 PHEVs last year.

Since the 4xe versions of the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee proved popular, more eco-friendly variants are on the way. Notably, Filosa has already confirmed that a Gladiator 4xe will arrive in 2025.
It is expected to be a copy of the Wrangler and will feature a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a 17.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and an electric motor. This setup allows the SUV to have a combined output of 375 hp (280 kW / 380 hp) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque, as well as an all-electric range of 34 km (21 miles).

More recently, the executive revealed plans for 4xe versions of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. They are expected to hit the market in 2025 with an extended-range powertrain that borrows heavily from the Ram 1500 Ramcharger. The pickup features a 92 kWh battery pack, a 3.6-liter V6 engine that acts as a generator, and a dual-motor all-wheel drive system that produces 663 hp (494 kW / 672 hp) and 615 lb-ft (833 Nm) produces. ) of couple.
