2025 Toyota Supra loses turbo-4, now priced from $57,345

The Toyota Supra will be released in model year 2025 without the 2.0-liter turbo engine of previous years and therefore has a much higher starting price.

Due to hit dealerships in the fall, the 2025 Supra comes standard with a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 and has a starting price of $57,345, including a $1,095 destination charge. That price represents a $1,750 increase over the comparable 2024 model. And with its turbo-4, the 2024 model was available for just $46,635.

The 2025 model is offered in two grades: a base grade and a better-equipped Premium grade. The Premium has a starting price of $60,495, including destination. Buyers can still choose between a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission on both trims.

The Supra’s 3.0-liter inline-6 turbo engine is rated at 382 horsepower and spins only the rear wheels, via an active differential. Owners can expect 0-60 mph acceleration in 3.9 seconds with the automatic and 4.2 seconds with the manual. The standard tires are Michelin Pilot Super Sports.

Standard features on the Supra include a digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-speaker audio system and a mix of Alcantara and leather upholstery on sport seats. Available Safety & Technology and Driver’s Assist packages add features such as a 12-speaker JBL audio system, wireless Apple CarPlay, a wireless charger, parking sensors, and blind-spot and rear cross-traffic alert systems. Toyota also has a new version of the Supra’s Renaissance Red exterior paint for 2025.

The purchase of a 2025 Supra also includes an annual membership to the National Auto Sport Association (NASA), along with free attendance at one of the organization’s High Performance Driving Event driver coaching days.

Toyota only managed to sell 2,652 units of the Supra in the US in all of 2023, so the streamlining of the lineup isn’t a huge surprise. And the carmaker still offers a four-cylinder sports car in the form of the 86, which achieved just over 11,000 sales last year.

While Toyota hasn’t confirmed any plans for one, a more hardcore Supra variant may be coming, possibly as early as the 2025 model year. Camouflaged prototypes with a large rear wing and flics on the front have been spotted testing at Germany’s Nürburgring.
